We debuted our ‘Modular System’ garden at The National Gardening Show. It provides flat packed, easy to assemble, instant planting beds and seating areas. By using a triangulation system, these planters can be reconfigured to fit a variety of locations. This garden is made up of fourteen beds and seats. The triangles offer flexibility in that they can stand alone as individual growing areas, or can be connected to create larger spaces.
Five planters form large seating areas that surround five fruit trees. We were keen to work with recycled/salvaged timber and often work with recycled materials where possible. The planting beds were built from reclaimed scaffolding boards sourced in the local area and complimented by gravel pathways using locally sourced aggregates. Our taxi came along for the ride, and needless to say, we planted her. We were delighted to be awarded a Gold Medal for this showcase garden, which was presented by Michael Eavis no less!
This versatile system has since been reconfigured to create numerous temporary installations across south London.
