Alan Down MHort [RHS], NSch

Alan is a Master of Horticulture (RHS) and draws upon 50 years’ experience to bring his expertise to the team. He advises on the practicality of projects from a growing standpoint. Using his network and knowledge of who’s who in horticulture, Alan connects the team with growers, manufacturers and distributors. He has been involved in several high profile EBS schemes, including the Gold Medal winning ‘Modular’ garden, 'Roll out the Barrows the 'Tree Bombs' and most recently had an input to the 'Pharmacy of House Plants'.

Alan is excited by the prospect of engaging new audiences in gardening and encouraging the breaking of down barriers to get more people to have a go at growing.

Fired by good strong coffee, Alan finds his happy place not just in all things horticultural but also in driving his awesome camper van off into nature and waking up to amazing views.
